Pulley ratio 1:2
While our standard weight stack is labeled 68 kg/150 lbs, it contains 136 kg/300 lbs of total weight. When both sides of the functional trainer are used simultaneously, the maximum effective resistance felt by the user is 68 kg/150 lbs. This 1:2 pulley ratio is ideal for heavy, controlled movements that build muscle and strength, such as a chest press or lateral pulldown.

Pulley ratio 1:4
When using only one side of the functional trainer, the maximum effective resistance felt by the user is 34 kg / 75 lbs. Unilateral training activates additional integrated pulleys, creating a unique 1:4 pulley ratio. This allows users to perform athletic and explosive movements without the weight stack bouncing due to slack cable. Additionally, the cable travels significantly farther, ideal for walking and other movements requiring greater range of motion.
